China Visa Types


The Chinese visa is a travel document granted to foreign visitors, by the Chinese visa authorities. It allows stays China for upto a set period, entry into China, exit out of China, and transit thorugh China.

Depending on the China visa applications purpose, there are several categories of visas issued to visitors. Below is a brief outline of the types of China visas grant for visitors depending on the nature of their trip.

* L Visa: The most common type of China visa is the L Visa. This is issued for foreigners entering China for the purposes of tourism, to visit friend, family and other personal matters. Besides the China visa application form, passport and passport size photograph, there are no other additional information required.
* F Visa: This is effectively also know as the China business visa, for visitors coming to China for research, lecture, business, culture exchanges, short-term studies. For interns visiting China who will be there for less then 6 months, this visa will also be fully accepted.
* Z Visa: A Z type visa is granted to those who are undertaking in taking up employment and being assigned a job post in China. This visa will also be issued to their accompanying family members.
* Z X Visa: A X type China visa, also known as a student visa is granted to those who enter China for studying, a course that involves advanced studies, and for intern students that are looking to stay in China for longer then 6 months. Generally proof of this study is required for this Chinese visa to be given.
* C Visa: A C type visa, is granted to aviation international crew members and also those on navigation and land transportation missions. This visa will also be granted for their family members who accompany them.
* J-1 Visa: This visa is granted to foreign resident correspondents residing in China
* J-2 Visa: A J-2 China visa is granted to foreign correspondents on a short-term interview mission in China.
* G Visa: This visa, also known as a transit visa is granted to visitors transiting through China.
* D Visa: This is also known as a resident permanent visa, and is issued to those who are seeking to reside permanently in China.
